Snow Queen (World Premier)

Ballet in two acts.
Music by David Goldstein
Choreography by Vadim Fedotov

Welcomes back local production company Ballet Fedotov and the Russian Ballet Alafaya dancers as they present the world premiere of Fedotov’s Snow Queen, a full-length ballet adaptation of the centuries-old tale by Hans Christian Anderson. It is a powerful story of friendship and the triumph of good over evil. After a young boy Kai has been taken by the wicked, heartless Snow Queen, the love of his best friend Gerda compels her to undertake a challenging search for him through many lands. It will take all of Gerda’s faith, courage, and persistence to find Kai, and all her love to rescue him from the evil Snow Queen.

The beloved fairytale is transformed to dance through the creative vision of Artistic Directors Vadim Fedotov and Irina Depler, with original choreography by Vadim Fedotov, and original score by David Goldstein. The production features stunning, new, hand-sewn costumes by Darya Fedotova and custom sets by Sergey Mickaylov, and is performed by an integrated cast of accomplished professional dancers along with the dedicated and talented company dancers of Russian Ballet Alafaya.
